Basic Plus/SATI/STTM/TappCore 3rd Place Winner

Mona J.

For most of my childhood and early adulthood, I was fairly active and didn’t have a weight problem. I had the typical hourglass figure and “curves in the right places.” If I gained a few pounds I would just exercise more and the weight would go away. I lifted weights two or three times a week, did aerobics, used the stair climber and treadmill. You name it, I probably did it. Then around November 1994, I hit a wall. I got weaker and weaker after every workout and could barely function. The doctors ran all sorts of tests and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. I was finally diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia.

That is when the battle with weight started. And once I reached my 30’s, my body shape began to change. All the fat moved northward and my self-confidence plunged. The changes left me literally off balanced and extremely clumsy. My bubble butt deflated and my tiny waist was replaced by a spare tire. That was a very frustrating time.

I tried to exercise to lose the weight and had moderate success. Then my competitive nature would kick in and I would exercise too much. My Lupus would flare up and I’d be in bed for weeks or even months. I tried dieting, but everyone knows how that goes. I do eat healthy, but can’t function properly if I cut calories. I desperately looked for an exercise program that was gentle on my body but intense enough to satisfy my need to feel like I had “worked out.”

One day I was on a forum looking for body weight exercises and I came across a thread talking about T-Tapp. At first I thought it may be just another fad, but I looked at the website anyway. The testimonials looked good and I saw that other people with Lupus were successful, so I ordered the tapes and signed up for the newsletter.

Wouldn’t you know it, but right after I ordered the tapes, a contest was announced. That would be the perfect way for me to get into a new routine and be held accountable for my actions. Knowing that I tend to overdo things, I signed up in the Basic Workout category to make sure that I didn’t do too much.

Let me tell you that I love these workouts! I have been doing Basic Workout Plus, Step Away the Inches, and TappCore. They are intense enough to make me drip sweat and really feel like I’m working, but I can carry on with my day afterwards and not have to go to bed. Also, I realize that if I’m tired, I can take a day off and the world won’t end. I feel like I’m coming back to life again and want to thank Teresa with all my heart for developing this system.

As far as I’m concerned, I’ve already won this contest. I’m losing that spare tire and back fat, and regaining confidence that I haven’t had in years… and you know what? My butt is re-inflating!!! Woo hoo!
