I was introduced T-Tapp two years ago. I loved the workout and attended a workshop. When I returned home I was going to get right to my boot camp. However, as the saying goes at our house, life happens so I never really got started.
On Valentine's weekend in 2009, I once again attended a workshop. The same day I returned home we received a call that our four year old grandson was in ICU. I spent the next six weeks with my daughter literally living at Toledo Hospital. I made use of some of our down time and also taught my daughter the Shoulder Rolls, Primary Back Stretch and Hoe Downs. We used the exercises to fight off the emotional stress of the situation and the physical fatigue from sleeping in the worst beds that an ICU sleeping room could offer. Once our grandson was released from ICU, I returned home to my husband and six children waiting for me and tried to get back to the full routine. I attended another workshop to refresh my critiquing that I had received from Carol Heinrich and Kat Creedon on Valentine's weekend. This time it was with Cheryl and Webra. They were both so helpful with tweaking my moves. The time was also helpful for me as I navigated my emotional letdown from six weeks in ICU with my grandson. As some background, I am 54 years old and in full blown menopause. I have also been diagnosed with hypothyroid. My weight had been in a continual creep upward with no end in sight. In addition to my increasing weight, I was having issues with my left shoulder. When I would move my arm up too high it would have a shooting pain. I have been one to do everything I can for my body and health so I decided to really throw myself into an exercise routine. I began to ride my elliptical for an hour and then the treadmill for a half an hour. On top of this, I was using bioidenticals for hormonal replacement and Synthroid for my thyroid replacement. I was not seeing any results for my hard efforts. Every doctor I saw said the same thing You are in the menopause stage of your life; this weight gain is to be expected. I was not willing to take this diagnosis so I took my trip to Indianapolis with Cheryl and Webra. With the excellent help I received in Indianapolis I was able to slowly improve form and technique. I began to feel better than I had in a long time. I started getting better sleep and had more energy. Both of these are very important when you still have six of your nine children at home who range from 8 to 19 years of age.
I then signed up for the 60-Day Challenge for Total Workout and Health Improvements. This has been a wonderful time for me. I have gone from a tight size 16 to a size 12. I have lost 33.75 inches. I no longer have pain in my left shoulder. The other wonderful part of T-Tapp is that it works on all of your body, not just what you see. I have been able to cut my thyroid medication in half (with just 60 days of workouts). I have also stopped taking my bioidenticals. I only use Teresa's Alfalfa. I not only feel much better physically, I feel much better emotionally as well.
I would also like to share with you what was a big side benefit to me since my schedule and location can be rather unpredictable. On June 15th I received a frantic call from my mom asking me stay at her house which is 3 ½ hours from home She
needed someone to take care of my 93 year old grandmother while my parents traveled to Oregon to see my brother and take a break. They were scheduled to leave that day and my grandmothers other son, who was to watch her, was taken to
the hospital with pneumonia. I quickly packed up my things and was out the door. I was able to pack one DVD, computer, body brush, Alfalfa and have everything I needed to continue getting my body in shape while I was away from home. I did
not have to look for a gym, pack weights, map out a route to jog or have special equipment. I had it all in one small bag. With all the things I needed in one small bag I did not have to miss a beat. This makes a great workout program the greatest for me.
I had another great surprise while I was at my moms. With every other exercise program I have been on the moment I miss for any period of time I have gained weight. Not so with T-Tapp. I injured my back muscles lifting my grandmother from her wheelchair into my van seat. While she is small, I was using muscles in a different way and pulled something. I could not exercise for six days. To my surprise, I did not even gain a quarter of an inch.
This has been a wonderful 60 days. Not only have I benefited greatly, my family has as well. We are all eating healthier using the GM/MM eating plan. It has helped us all to be more conscious of what we put in our mouths. This will continue to be our way of eating. |
