How many children do you have and what are the ages?
I have 9 children. They are 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 6, 3, 2 and 1.
How did you find out about T-Tapp?
I heard about T-Tapp for the first time on a friend's website. I had just delivered my 9th baby.
How long have you been T-Tapping?
I started T-Tapping at 3 weeks postpartum on February 28th, 2007. I started with just Hoe-downs and the exercises found on the DVD in the back of Teresa's book. At 6 weeks postpartum I began a 5-day boot camp using my newly purchased Total Workout. At the end of the boot camp, I was down 9.5 inches from my starting point!
Why did you choose to start T-Tapping?
Three babies in fewer than 3 years, plus 9 deliveries total, I was desperate to find my body again. I was also suffering from some pretty intense postpartum depression, had a lot of back and hip pain, making walking difficult. I had also gained more than 40 pounds with the pregnancy, on top of the 10 left from my 8th child. The research I did online was enough to convince me that I could find help in T-Tapp. I have always tried hard to exercise and stay fit, and have used almost every kind of workout video out there. In recent years I found it more difficult to get the results I used to get with other programs.
Which are your favorite moves from T-Tapp? I love Hoe-downs, and mostly I love that I feel energized afterwards. I am beginning to love Lawn Mowers, but often I wonder if that's because they are at the end of my favorite workout. J I have grown to appreciate and enjoy Step-Lift since it effectively raises the cardio; and, since I am beginning to really reshape my arms, I have to say I like the arms portion of my workout.
Are/were you doing a specific eating program prior to finding out that you were pregnant? Not really. I tried to think about what I was eating, but did not follow a diet and pretty much ate what I wanted to.
Are you using Teresa's Cellulite Removal Technique? Yes, I started brushing and taking alfalfa when I began the Total Workout. I am convinced that the alfalfa has enabled me to breastfeed my son while losing weight and inches and exercising regularly. I never had trouble with my milk supply this time as I have with other babies when I tried to exercise.
Do you do any other kinds of activities with this pregnancy such as walking, aerobics, etc.? I tried to stay somewhat active and I was faithful with pre-natal Pilates until about the 7th month. After that, it was hit or miss, but mostly miss.
Are any other Better Body Basic products that you used during your pregnancy? I wish I had known about T-Tapp during my pregnancy. I am sure my story would have been different.
What other health benefits have you had while doing T-Tapp (less edema, less PMS crazies, reduction of knee pain, control of depression, etc)? Within 2 weeks of starting T-Tapp, I had a total turnaround with my postpartum depression. I began to have more energy and generally feel better. Within the first month I noticed a significant difference in my back and hip pain which is now gone! Within about 3 months I noticed a huge difference in what had been a somewhat prolapsed uterus. That has been totally reversed for me. Also, about 4 months ago our family got a new trampoline. I was casually telling a friend that I jumped on the trampoline with my kids. Her reaction of surprise made me realize that after so many pregnancies, that is pretty amazing. I had no bladder issues and could enjoy the moment with my kids!
What kinds of inch loss results have you had from T-Tapp? Since beginning last year, I have lost 48"! I participated in the 2007 60-day Challenge and lost 12". However, most of my significant inch loss was in the first 3 months. I have been consistent throughout the year, working out on average 3 to 4 times a week. The most I ever took off between workouts was 3 days - until this February when I took a 2-3 week break. I followed that up with a 10 day boot camp using Tempo2 to jumpstart my inch loss again. During the last 8 months, however, my workouts have mostly been the Basic Plus and the 15 minute Tempo. I've added other exercises here and there, but my time was limited and I was glad to get in a 15 or 20 minute workout. My inch loss did plateau for about 3 months, and I got discouraged and took a break, as mentioned above. But, already I've started to lose inches again, and am encouraged to keep pressing on!
What kind of advice do you have for other moms contemplating adding T-Tapp into their lifestyle? Consistency is the key to success! I found that I have to set realistic goals, like a 15 minute workout 4 or 5 days a week, rather than a 50 minute workout 3 days a week. (While getting up to nurse a baby during the night, I find it harder to get up early enough to get in a long workout.) I wish I had known about T-Tapp while pregnant, but am thankful for the success I've had so far and look forward to finally meeting my weight, size and inch-loss goals this year!
