Lisa Walter

I'm Lisa Walter, 41 years old, married with two great kids, and have always exercised. I used to think I was pretty healthy, but looking back on it now, I had a lot of room for improvement. Before I found T-Tapp, I wasn't really overweight. Although I would have been pleased to be at a lower weight or smaller size, I was in the healthy range for my height. I wore a size 7-8 in jeans, which were a little loose on me. Before perimenopause hit, I was in a comfortable size 6 or smaller for many years. Once I hit 38, staying in shape became a challenge. In the months before I found T-Tapp, I was extremely frustrated that my usual method of exercising, walking, wasn't working like it used to. I kept adding to the amount of time I devoted to exercise and suddenly found myself working out for over two hours a day, but seeing none of the results I wanted. Neither my weight nor my pant size would budge.

I should probably mention that I used to be a ballet dancer until I was injured at the age of 23. I still danced for several years after that, but no longer professionally. Unfortunately, the ballet world also came with its share of eating disorders. I was both bulimic and anorexic, on and off, since I was 14 and after I stopped dancing, the exercising I did was not so much because I wanted to be healthy, but because I didn't know how to live life any other way. Instead of helping control my stress, many times it added to my stress because I always felt I wasn't doing enough. In addition to this frenetic exercising, I was also actively restricting my eating until the age of 30, when I became pregnant with my second child. I guess it's a little easier for you to see that I may have appeared healthy to people who saw the outer me, but inside I was screaming for help.

Fast-forward to May 2007. Completely confounded by the lack of results I was getting with walking so many hours a week, I decided to add long distance walking on the weekends. I ended up with spasms in my legs, an aching lower back, and blisters that never had a chance to heal. One morning, I was reading our local newspaper and happened across an article by Lisa MacLeod, who had written about an exercise program called T-Tapp. I had heard about it before (honestly, what hadn't I heard about? I was obsessed with exercise) but never believed the claims it made. I knew how to lose weight. You had to starve yourself and exercise like crazy. But after I had my daughter in 1996, I decided that living a life of starvation was not what I wanted anymore. So for the next 11 years, I simply did the best I could.

Lisa's article set something off in my brain, and I went to the T-Tapp website, read everything there, and started researching. I Googled for over a week and couldn't find a single thing wrong with T-Tapp. Most exercise programs have cons as well as pros, and it's easy to find the drawbacks online. But I searched and I searched and could not find anyone who said anything negative about T-Tapp at all. That was surprising to me and, in the beginning of June 2007, I decided to order Basic Workout Plus and Step Away the Inches. When the dvds came, I didn't bother to measure myself. I still was quite certain that this wouldn't work for me, but I thought I would at least build a little muscle elsewhere on my body instead of just my legs.

I started with a 14 day bootcamp of Basic Plus. We had just finished a heat wave here in western New York and had a spell of cooler weather for a few days. The shorts I was wearing the day I started the bootcamp were still thrown over a chair a week later. It was hot that day and I put them on. To my amazement, they were very loose. It was day seven of my bootcamp and I was shocked. All I did was substitute Basic Plus for my morning walk, which was 30 minutes long. I was terrified to do this because Basic Plus was only 15 minutes, so I was actually losing 15 precious minutes of working out per day. I was sure I would gain weight or get bigger, but the evidence was now smacking me in the face. I lost inches. I had no idea how many because I refused to measure, so at that point I was kicking myself! Two days later I found I'd lost 3 pounds. The scale that refused to budge for at least two years suddenly moved. I was sold. I added Step Away the Inches to my workout routine and decided not to end the Basic Plus bootcamp because I was told Basic Plus was safe to do every day, and I felt wonderful doing it. I slowly started substituting Step Away for my regular treadmill walking, and lo and behold, the inches fell away. In less than three weeks, I lost 7 pounds and a documented 8 inches. I'll never know the total inches I lost because I didn't measure until I was two weeks into tapping, and when I did measure, I was only concerned with my bust, waist, abdomen, hips, and upper thighs.

I soon ordered Total Workout and the rest, as they say, is history. I went from working out over two hours a day to a little over an hour, and sometimes only 30-45 minutes, and with a day completely off per week. I could never think of taking a day off before. I am currently a size 4 and, at 5'4" tall, I weight 119. The last time I was in my size 4 jeans, I weighed about 110 and I was starving. And to me, that's the beauty of T-Tapp: what I have gained in health is priceless. I completely changed the way I eat, all because, in about 7 days, T-Tapp took my cravings away. I got off all artificial sweeteners, cut back on my sugar intake by about 90%, started drinking loads of water (Celestial Seasoning Zingers to Go + True Lemon; that's really all I drink anymore, except for water), increased my fruits and veggies by a whole lot, stopped eating red meat and pork, and stopped drinking alcohol (except for maybe one day on the weekend if we're going out, but then I limit to one drink). And do you know, I don't miss any of it. I can honestly and very seriously say that I have zero cravings anymore. I never ever thought I'd be able to say that. T-Tapp has given me an amount of health I never thought possible. It is truly amazing. It has shown me that I can enjoy exercise and that I don't have to be so frantic about it. It taught me how to eat well (thank you, amazing T-Tapp forum members), and showed me that I can eat, not starve, and still be in excellent shape. T-Tapp gave me an inner peace I never had before. I've learned to trust myself and my body. My body is no longer the enemy.

As if this wasn't enough of a great thing, I found that T-Tapp gave me another health benefit. My periods used to be very heavy and sometimes painful. I was to the point of thinking about having a medical procedure done to see if it would help. After 4 months, I can easily say that T-Tapp fixed my menstrual issues completely. My periods are much lighter, and I barely get anything in the way of cramps now. This really only took 1-2 months, but I didn't want to mention it until I was pretty certain the problem was over. So not only did I gain all the wonderful things I just talked about, but my body is also working much better than it was before and I feel great in so many ways, all thanks to Teresa Tapp and her amazing program. I am truly grateful.
